In his third memoir, Irish American author Frank McCourt takes the reader through 30 years of teaching High School in New York City. Although the bulk of the book centers around his experiences as an educator, the book does not limit itself to classroom anecdotes. McCourt gives attention to his days as a laborer before he began teaching, and to experiences during his teacher training.
This is essentially part three of McCourt's autobiography (parts one and two being Angela's Ashes and 'Tis)
